1. How we assist
- Free, documented storm damage inspection with dated photographs.
- A written damage report and itemized repair or replacement estimate.
- Meeting your adjuster at the property to walk the roof together.
- Preparing supplemental estimates when the approved scope misses required work or code items.
- Explaining, in plain language, what the carrier's paperwork means for your project.
2. What your insurance carrier determines
Your insurance carrier — not MLB Roofing — solely determines:
- Coverage — whether your policy covers the loss at all.
- Scope — which components and areas are included.
- Payment — the amount paid, depreciation held, and how it is released.
- Approval — whether a claim, supplement, or reinspection is accepted.
3. No guarantee of outcome
MLB Roofing cannot guarantee any insurance outcome. We cannot promise a claim will be approved, that a full roof replacement will be authorized, that a supplement will be paid, or that any specific dollar amount will be issued. Any statement suggesting otherwise is not authorized by MLB Roofing.
4. We are not adjusters or attorneys
MLB Roofing is a licensed roofing contractor. We are not a public adjuster, an insurance agent, or a law firm. We do not negotiate claims on your behalf as your legal representative, do not interpret policy language for you, and do not provide legal advice. If your claim is denied and you wish to challenge it, we can supply documentation, and you may wish to consult a licensed public adjuster or attorney.
5. Deductibles
Your deductible is your responsibility and is owed regardless of the claim amount. North Carolina law prohibits a contractor from waiving, absorbing, rebating, or otherwise paying a customer's insurance deductible. MLB Roofing does not and will not do so, and we will never inflate an estimate to cover one.
6. Honest documentation
We document only the damage we actually observe. We will not misrepresent the age, cause, or extent of damage to a carrier, and we will tell you plainly if we believe your roof does not have a covered loss.
