Emergency Service Disclaimer

1. Purpose of emergency service

Emergency tarping and temporary repairs are intended to reduce additional damage to your home while a permanent solution is scheduled, an insurance claim is processed, or weather clears. They are a mitigation measure, not a repair.

2. Temporary repairs are temporary

Temporary repairs do not replace permanent roof repair or replacement. Tarps, sealants, patches, and temporary flashing have a limited service life, can be displaced by high wind, and may allow water intrusion in severe or wind-driven rain. Tarp fasteners create penetrations that are addressed during the permanent repair.

3. No guarantee against further intrusion

MLB Roofing cannot guarantee that an emergency measure will stop all water intrusion, and is not responsible for damage that occurs despite good-faith emergency mitigation, including damage from continuing storms, wind uplift of a tarp, or water already inside the structure.

4. Response times and safety

We prioritize emergency calls and aim to tarp active leaks within 24 hours. Crews will not access a roof during lightning, high wind, ice, or when the structure is unsafe. During widespread storm events, response times extend and calls are triaged by severity.

5. Cost and insurance

Emergency service is a billable service, quoted before work begins where circumstances allow. Most homeowner policies cover reasonable emergency mitigation costs, and we provide itemized documentation and photographs to support that portion of your claim. Coverage is determined by your carrier.

6. Your responsibility after tarping

• Keep people and pets clear of interior areas showing water damage or sagging ceilings.
• Report any new leak or tarp movement to us right away.
• Schedule the permanent repair promptly — tarps are not a season-long solution.
